Boys Noize/NYC/Halloween
One half of the voulesrandom crew is blessed this hallows eve and one is not. Voules in New York today to have a little visit with our favorite city on earth and it just so happens that he'll be catching Boys Noize at the Fixed party. So as I sit in my usual spot behind my screen he will be aurally assaulted by the German. I thought I'd throw in some classic Boys Noize records here with these collabos.

Harvard Bass/Drop The Lime
I want to post as many diverse sounds as possible on this page...is it my fault that Harvard Bass just happens to embody so many styles. A true tech house chameleon.

Les Judas New Gillettes
New Judas is a label from Finland that you have all become familiar with heat from Mixhell, Pets On Prozac, and now with Les Gillettes who hail from southern Britain. A relatively new one here released a fortnight ago and as you all know I have never been a chart topper or hype machine sweetheart. New tracks still have to be dope and this is. Today we got 'Pompeii' the title track and its in the vein of some of my favorite labels right now which I will not list cuz you all know who they are by what I post and emphasize. 'R U From London' is a club dreamer track mixed in a dub style and broken up by random shotguns cocking and spacey reverb. This song is much more accessible than the title track which Obi Blanche kills with his D.I.M./ritchie hawtin overhaul. Mikix the Cat is rounding out the group and its a good thing he is cuz hes also pissed off and ready to show just how much with this one. Buy it at BEATPORT and JUNO

Something to Finish
Pierce (Dominic Fabrig) is a self-proclaimed bedroom producer whose tracks have been repped by Canada's finest. It is the excitement of hearing his tracks played at his favorite spots that keeps Fabrig working hard. “I want to continue to be a part of the conversation when it comes to electronic music and the whole scene associated with it. When you talk to someone who gets excited about a specific beat, or a random breakdown or something, it feels pretty good.” Fabrig is looking to release an EP this summer based on some of his older influences, and new inspiration. “There’s a lot of amazing stuff being made right now, and some stuff is tired. I want to make good songs that don’t really have to sound new or old. It’s less stressful and more interesting.” .

Mini Sunday Post
Many gems to get to for the weekly wrap list starting off with BNR prodigy Strip Steve laying waste to some Das Glow on the 'Lite Brite' EP. The young Frenchman builds a slow burner out of squelchy disco and thick chunky 'Homework'esque lines. LCD look out.. (Photos: Thomas Prior)
DL : Das Glow - Lite Brite (Strip Steve remix)
Switching gears to Turbo recording artist Jori Hulkkonen with and his full length album entitled 'Man On Earth'. 'Boying In The Smokeroom' is dark experiment of heavy synths and smooth textured loops. Powerful without being overpowering..
DL : Jori Hulkkonen - Boying in the Smokeroom
More Turbo here that could act as polar opposite to the sounds of Jori. The Proxy's track 'Who Are You' is simply a crash and boom affair that I would fear to play live whereas the cut '8000' is an interesting play on East Indian themes with Sitars and that Russian skull crushing production.
DL : The Proxy - 8000 (Original mix)
Something new here leaning more towards the sunny and smooth side of the house game is Pasquale Maassen and Remute. Deep warbling underwater disco line with a intelligent bump.
DL : Pasquale Maassen - Hard Rhythm (Remute remix)
More heartfelt head banging house here with Dutchman Joris Voorn and a track that surfaced a few months ago and has been burning up the Beatport charts. 'We're All Clean' has a great disco guitar laying over the preachings of a guy that sounds like the intro track 'Wolves' on the Dead Prez debut album. All an all eerie and funky at the same time.
DL : Joris Voorn - We're All Clean
Bonus Beats:
DL : Will Bailey - Hit The Club (Sidney Samson remix)
DL : Alice And The Serial Numbers - Zombie Barbie (Costello remix)

Bring on the Chromeo Remixes
As you probably all know Chromeo has been one of the most remixed artists in blog land. Siriusmo got his hands on their new single 'Night by Night' and took it a step further with a nice little breakdown at the end. This remix is the first of many I'm sure. Enjoy!.

Look Before You Leak
Leak already damn it Leak! The new album 'Phrazes For The Young' is just around the corner and as I write this all of my Aussie and Brit friends seem to have said Leak leaving us North Americans in their indie wake....I have a new track to share with you though so enjoy. We'll have to settle for 2 out of 8 tracks heard. As a footnote be sure to check out Julians Friday residency at the Downtown Palace Theatre in Los Angeles..

Aucune Fantaisie
Nothing fancy here just some hip hop from Cologne featuring the Pharcyde. This came out in the summer and I figured its time to share it cuz I have been feeling drum and bass a hip hop alot lately. (PHOTO: Tarmac #3 Aeroport du Paris-Rouissy Charles De Gauille France from Yann Arthus Bertrand
DL : Ancient Anstronauts featuring the Pharcyde - Classic
Next up is some club atmospherics from London's Rory Phillips on the revisited classic from Jackpot released on Permanent Vacation. He has been on a quite tear through nightclubs all across Europe and is set to invade North America. Bet on him makin some waves this winter.
DL : Jackpot - Greased Lightning (Rory Phillips remix)
Finally we are off to what I like to refer to as Kompakt house music from GusGus. Indie electro at its finest here compete with the steely, beautifully controlled Icelandic stylings of fellow countrymen and experimental electronic giant Ben Frost..

Riton Time
Riton's has been pumping out the freshest of tracks these days. His largely diverse sound is filled with warm basslines and catchy hooks which never fails my hungry ears. His Rerub's are always the farthest thing away from the original and 'New Moon Rising' is definitely no exception.

Lucky W.K.N.D.
I am feeling particularly inspired by this new batch of tunes and felt like giving you all a preview of whats to come when we play at Bar Italia on Gate Night. I have been reinvigorated with house music in Winnipeg by Luis Cardona from Balanced Records and Lil' Phil who promote the night titled "Lucky Mix". Our homeboy Jamall Knight dropped heat last night and we'll do the same on the 30th. In honor of them I put settled on a little mini playlist preview of stuff I'm crushin on. (Art by Are Mokkelbost)
.
First up our favorite breakout producer Harvard Bass. Bridging the gap between the mainstream and the nihilistic critic fans Harvard best represented the West Coast scene by never staying in one place or treading in past footsteps when in the studio.
DL : Mom & Dad - The Whole Sh Bang (Harvard Bass Mix)
I picked this one up awhile back at our favorite page from Britain which you've all heard of by now I assume called You Can Call Me Pelski. The track was an exclusive for Pel's when it dropped a month or so ago and its worth a place in my sets anytime I'm out. Echoey and dark with enough night keys to keep your headnod locked into homeostasis.
DL : Boy 8 Bit - Baltic Pine (Greenmoney Baltic Porn Bootleg)
Norwegian producer Lindstrøm never fails to impress and with the vocal collabo we see him stretch his ear further. To make matters better is countrymen Aeroplane with a sparkling edit.
DL : Lindstrøm and Christabelle - Baby Cant Stop (Aeroplane Remix)
Mixing Modeselektor tunes can sometimes be a sticky affair with defied electronic music logic and waves and patterns that are sometimes at odds with dancefloor dictates. Here however we see an almost D.I.M. like approach with that space and black hole production style that has seen Modeselektor's star on the rise.
DL : Boys Noize - Jeffer (Modeselektor Remix)

POPOF Faces The Future
Seems like forever since a new POPOF track has surfaced and today we get to hear what the French tech giant is bringing to the already stacked table of Saturday offerings. In his usual style POPOF rides the line between the aggressive and melodic here he drops an intro to a face melter then levels it off with a bombastic bassline that will test even the largest of systems. Not sticking to the french filter house model or the wierdo tropical afro beat sub genres he sticks to his techie guns and creates a sound unlike those of his compatriots. .
DL : Popof - Faces 'Uch
Similiar Sounds From 08'
DL : En Masse - Paura (Original mix) En Masse Myspace

Feelin' a lil Fidgety
Once in a while I'm in the mood for some glitchy wobbly basslines. Who do I turn to you ask? None other than British duo Beni G and Plus One of Jack Beats. Throw them some La Roux vocals and you have quite thee classic pop cut up.
DL : La Roux - I'm Not Your Toy (Jack Beats Remix)
Bonus:

Black and Bloo
More mayhem from this 19 year old from Belgium who is showing us that the kids are gonna be alright. New schools of thought are being pursued which is a huge relief. With its off time pads and synths, windup hooks, and that Pellegrino style sound 'Ouchhh! by HighBloo is yet another slice of world beat house that's unmistakable. 'Yijki' keeps the floor movin even further into space with its snipped african bush man vocals strewn about a bouncey bass kick saturated with plenty of low oHm sustain.. (Painting by Kazuki Takamatsu)

Holy Mt. Scion!
Scion does it again with it's sampler series and this time they've employed The Toxic Avenger for its 26 installment. The Nike Original Run series seemed to dominate 08 but with this release I can see Scion edge itself in front. . .

Solo Originals
This is our pages 666th post so you'd expect me to drop something evil but I am not feelin that style as much lately. It has been supplanted with my original musical love. Jazz. Solo's recordings personify my musical love into house music with it positive vibrations and rhythms. He got his hook's us in over the last couple years with remixes on Malente's -"Music Forever", Zombie Disco Squad's -"Esperanto" as well as a ton of collabos with Mowgli. He just finished a remix for the Crookers and will do also cuts for Jahcoozi and Depeche Mode soon to start 2010 off with a bang..
