I Can't Bear The Funk Any Longer

Last week saw the release (finally!) of Bottin's long awaited full length. The Italians DO Do It Better it seems and with this release from Bear Funk Records any fan of Hercules and Love Affair, The Juan Maclean, or Putsch '79 will fall ass over tits for this one. Having teased us with 'Theme From St Mark 30124' and 'No Static' on I.D.I.B. earlier in the year we now treated to a style that gets bandied about quite frequently whilst describing all things Balearic and heavenly but heres a real piece of Italo here from a real Italian. Bottin creates Morroder'esque thriller lines that have a retro but space disco edge. It's no wonder that Bottin is able to define a genre so point-blank after working for such diverse institutions as Richard Dorfmeister, Centro Internazionale d'Arte e Cultura Palazzo Te di Mantova, Bangorfilms & many other fascinating people.
