6ix Pack Selection (Goodform Edition)

Been a while since I treated you to a selection of what I have been listening to lately so I figured go hard or go home. So I dialed up a six pack of music to whet your whistle before you head out to Goodform tonight. I unfortunately will not be in attendance as I am previously engaged for the evening. Alright enough jabber.... Oh and the Jpegs are Robert Longo


Along with the Talking Heads San Francisco's The Units were one of my favorite discoveries growing up. Funky synth's instead of guitars and disco dancefloor that avoided the mainstream unlike their art school compatriots the Talking Heads. thank you Rory Phillips.

Next one to shotgun down the hatch is Pony Pony Run Run getting the overhaul by VR favorites Dro & Lodzy. We featured the duo back in March with their 'Not Yet Now' EP I also wanted to post this track because it goes so well with the previous Rory Phillips remix. This track however is not a naughtier than nice when it breaks down with heavy warning siren blasts of electro affection and the barely inaudible 'Hey You' getting bitchslapped.

Chugging right along its some U.S. new school (un blog house) from midwest mayhem makers Norrit. This track is a slice of old school heat that builds and undulates a sort of 1998 vibe. White Girl Lust takes the cake with a dab of San Francisco 80's attack with doubled up melodies and echoey drum bits.

It says on his myspace that he is from the Congo and it sounds like it considering one has beautiful arpeggios and hand drums massaging an African heartbeat back to life. Its no real surprise then to see that Talabot is finding his music being spun from Radio One to James Holden and back to Ibiza for the summer with Underworld's Darren Emerson and probably another Global Underground CD I will have to purchase. AFFKT defintely re creates the track in a way that will sustain a dancefloor however with the Original going into DFA territory which is great but not always a hit with the locals.

Something that you can use to pummel the floor in the face however is the new remix from Jokers that rips Burns to shreds and make The Proxy look like Minitel Rose.

Bonus Shite.....

Simply a left over bit that Daft Punk undeveloped which left the doors open for Brazil's The Twelves...I Love These Guys.
