Sunday Post
It been a good week with the exception of our below normal February temperatures and as per the normal around here I try to post as much fire during the week but sometimes the day job wins and eats up the majority of my time. They say that a third of your life is spent at work all the while the government (in Canada) takes a third of your pay away....depressing. I try and try but I can never post as much new brilliance as I would want so as I finished cleaning up the dishes from a curry that I made tonight I ponder what was missed this week and what need some attention.
ZOMBIE NATION head the show tonight with 'Mas De Todo' from his new full length on UWK Records which is a sublabel of his own Dekathlon Records. The German techno and electro project of the Munich based DJ and producer Florian Senfter (a.k.a. Splank!) should be known to Most of us having seen the success of singles like 'Kernkraft 400' and the efforts also put forth by his other moniker John Starlight.
Look out for him at Fabric on March 6th which is 3 days prior to the release of 'Zombielicious'.

Its probably no surprise that Brooklyn is home to sex and drugs. Not the kind you are thinking ya pervs it the team of Harry and Logan from SXNDRGS. I asked the duo to answer a quickie Bio thingy for the page and they responded post haste:
VR - How did you guys get started?
SXNDRGS - We got started pretty much on new years, nothing special... just sorta happened, like fate.
VR - What are your influences?
SXNDRGS - We draw influence from like the 'heavy hitting banger era of 06-07'
VR - What is your favorite meal?
SXNDRGS - Being from brooklyn we LOVE brooklyn style deep dish pizza
'We Can Fly' has that big anthemic arena house feel that almost borders the progressive but gets brought back into electro territory with the major hurricane swirl breakdown whereas 'Chrome Depot' leans more towards a heavy Boys Noize or Housemeister style desolation that sounds more Euro in terms of production rather that the hip hop influence that is seen in too many East coasters.

New stuff from our homeboy FIGURE hailing from the means streets of Evansville, Indiana this stone cold player integrates all the screw faced mayhem from your favorite hip hop and pushes the levels to the red with his electro touches. Back once again with a remaster of his track ' Shell Shakes' and the new one 'Coker Face' he wonks our brains with big claps and squelchy bottoms that are badass from start to finish and highly addictive.
DL : Figure - Shell Shakes (remastered)
DL : Figure - Coker Face (original mix)
Sent to us this week we round out the hyped up dance portion of the Sunday Post with a new talent from France(surprised?) called Jaffinson. You can tell by the first note of a first single(as in this case) when something is hot and everything else they remix or create will be as well. Super strong disco that makes me wish this was 320kb quality track I was sharing because I already want to play it out.
DL : Jaffinson - Prince Of Castle (demo version) .
FTW is proud to present our first release coming soon for may.
This digital ep will be available on Beatport, iTunes, Juno and more :
JAFFINSON "Prince Of Castle ep"
01 - Prince Of Castle
02 - Capital, dictators & co
03 - Staline
+ 2 remixs of "Prince Of Castle".

At this point in the post I wanna switch gears from heavy to soft. From crunch to smooth. Noisey to breezy. Starting off is the heavenly IDM sounds of Budapest's Peter Bergmann a.k.a We Are Happy Plants. 'Bluebird' starts out mellow but turns into a soft house number much like the works of Hercules and Love Affiair, Metronomy, or Lifelike.
DL : We Are Happy Plants - Bluebird

We introduced you all to 'Sergio' from Nashville's Jensen Sportag awhile back and thankfully he thought of all of us again when creating the new single to be released on March 13th on midisport records. The yin to Sergio's hairy chested yang is 'Jackie'
DL : Jensen Sportag - Jackie
Bonus Chill Material:
DL : Plimsouls - Twelve (alt version)
DL : Depeche Mode - Oh Well (Black Light Odyssey Dub) .
DL : The Invisible - Londongirl (Nightmoves remix)
DL : Friendly Fires - Skeleton Boy (Air France remix) .
DL : Jay Haze - Can't Forget (Fuckpony Discotech remix)
