Sunday Post
To start the Sunday Post we have news of some live voulesrandom action coming up in less than a fortnight. We will be spinning at the LO-PUB here in Winnipeg on the 22nd of January. When we booked this date with our friend Mike B we had no idea it was the exact anniversary of our little page so we urge one an all to come out and groove to the sounds of voulesrandom in a live setting. Stay tuned for details. [Images - MIIKA SAKSI]
Trouble And Bass line king AC Slater recently started his own digital record label called 'Party Like Us'. The debut single that comes with a killer Udachi remix bears the same name as the label. Here's a little info on it for ya>
"We are proud to announce the launch of Party Like Us Records, based out of the United States in Brooklyn, NY. Party Like Us Records is a digital label that features releases from AC Slater, Udachi, and B. Rich as well as remixes by our like minded producer friends from around the world. The mission with Party Like Us is to release dancefloor friendly tracks that incorporate all kinds of classic dance music elements with a creative and original edge. Basically, we like heavy bass that pounds and drives the dancefloor. We are distributed by Seed Distribution based out of Brooklyn, NY."

Ever since I heard 'Cold Dust Girl' by Hey Champ a couple months ago I have been eagerly anticipating this 80Kidz remix. Applying the perfect retouch to the indie pop jewel they liven up the Chicago trios wildly popular single. Hey Champ have been our radar since Lupe Fiasco signed them to his label in 08. Well worth the wait.

CRUXDAHOUSE producer and DJ Bryan Cox got a slew of remixes on his single from November. Not exactly the newest thing out there but definitely worth the spin considering the excellent synths and crunchy bottom provided by Tits & Clits.

The more I hear from Lars Moston the more I like over these last few months. Used to living in the shadow of his producer pal Malente he has stepped out of it with his remixes and original productions. Jaimie Fanatic's heavy fidget jackhouse is man handled by Moston. Old rave appeal mixed with large thumping beats can't be beat. This one is released on Wearhouse Music which can't miss at the moment.

"Not since Soulwax has there been such a fine tightrope balancing act between the two parallel dimensions of indie and dance and, while Milke sound nothing like the Belgian duo, their sensibility when it comes to mashing genres is right up their rue."- MusicOMH.com Sept 08.
That pretty well sums up my feelings on Milke and as for the Designer Drugs remix well they are perfectly equipped to handle this sort of track having lifted Hail Social's 'Heaven' to new heights.

Last but never least is more greatness from the pages of IHEARTCOMIX once again. I love this blog so much and it probably not even news to you as I realize that my audience is pretty damn savvy when it comes to new tracks but this one has to be shared.
“The latest Scion A/V Remix captures the essence of modern dance music by pairing Chicago house pioneer Roy Davis Jr. with some of the most sought after DJs and producers in the world,” said Jeri Yoshizu, Scion sales promotions manager. “As driving beats and soulful vocals continue to fill the airwaves in pop and underground music, Scion is proud to partner with music legends and also support the new generation of rising talent.”
With roots in acid house, soulful house, dance punk, and UK garage, remixers Fred Falke, The Juan MacLean and Todd Edwards deliver four club anthems pasted together with stylized vocal collages and floor stomping beats.
Beginning Jan. 27, 2009, “Scion A/V Remix: Roy Davis Jr.” will be available for sale at all major online retailers and distributed at special Scion-sponsored events.
Oddly enough I prefer the effort put forth by Todd Edwards more than the Fred Falke(there's a first for everything I guess?) The Todd Edwards cuts are a sweet slice of house sensibility blended with garagey bottoms and fidgety melodies that create a new style not yet seen by the electro masses. Like the AC Slater which started the weekly wrapup this in not to be missed. Ciao!
