C'est Fantastique

The diversity of the blog world never ceases to amaze me. My analytic reader for the page gives me a glimpse of the crowd that's tuning in to see what delights are on display for your eyes and ears. The country who wins the award for most visits overall for 2008 is also the same that produces some of the best house music - France. Second Place went to the United States and United Kingdom in a close third. We had a total of 206,890 visitors in 2008 and we will destroy that number this year that I'm a sure of. So as a little tribute to France I decided to post 3 of my favorite French innovators. Dilemn, Discodeine and Joakim.

Funky and chunky seems to be the only to describe the 'Cosmica' EP released on southern French label Boxon. Interesting fidget and vocal snipp interplay with a Yuksek'ish vibe throughout(always a good thing). DilemN is the talented young composer who made what will surely be one to list on the best of 09. Remixes on the EP are by labelmates Tom Deluxx and Eclier.

Pentile and Pilooski make up the production team called Disocdeine. They make cinematic darkly tinged techno that has a depth that can't always be seen in some of the more floor oriented bangers of the new electro mindset. One thing is for sure, if you want your track to be pushed to the limits of avant garde and new italo minimalism then never fear cuz Joakim is here. Here he industrializes the title track even more adding hollow echo drums and organized nonsense that clatter and blonk until my heart skips a beat and then returns back to the rhythm.
