Every year in
Shout Out Out Out Out - Self Loathing Rulez (Malente remix)
(photo: ian walsh)

With names like Da Flava & Suck16 you know your in for some full, smooth poppin, disco funk. Hailing from Dublin Symbol One is has been rocking the Isles now for little more than a year and the original of this track was one of the standouts on the rejected Fabric Xmas mix. Here
Symbol One - Love Juice (Moulinex remix)

Next up is a really cool EP from Paper Bag recording artist Sally Shapiro. This young Swedish chanteuse makes sweet dance music for the night. Angelic vocals mixed with upbeat house bottoms. The EP comes with some pretty fun remixes with the likes of Holy Fuck, Tensnake, and label mates Woodhands. This

"One rap producer with the sailors blood pumping; a death metal guru, a crazy in the head champion DJ; a preachers son and the former boyband star.
Together, all these influences explode in the mighty Trabant.
Crack open the champagne - We are coming to the UK!!!!!
We are all set for an emotional month this June when we embark upon our biggest UK tour yet aptly named An Emotional Month With Trabant
Our live sets involve various degrees of nudity, copious amounts of champagne and buckets of glitter and we've planned a number of surprises too so all we need now is you guys to come and party with us!
Get yourself to the gigs and show us how you do it!!!!
WARNING; We plan to unleash a cool blast of glamorous, leather-clad electropop decadence upon you Brits in June when we release our throbbing, DAF-esque electropop glacier of a new single, 'The One'"

So the remixes we have for you are the killer Black Ghosts remix featured on their recent Black Ghosts mixtape and the unreal Para One remix. After having watched the Hooligans Disco video that was posted on KidzbyCollette last week I was blown away by all of the Institubes live sets. Para One was no exception. Although he should have cut his alcohol consumption in half whilst visiting a foreign country.

Estaw Breaks It Down
Estaw has a hip hop electro flavour that is hard to define. Kinda Ninja Tune'ish at times with a dash of Mo Wax. The 'Break It Down' EP is pure crunk hop gone vocally mad. Not as mad as Akufen or Prefuse 73 but not far off. Here at VR however we get the usual - a dope ass remix by someone we all love. In this case we have two. We have a remix by Herve and Detboi. Enjoy.

Ring Around The Roadsy
It's been kind of a slow day musically so I figured I would post some more of an earlier EP that I dropped from Underworld. I first gave you the Laidback Luke remix which was a damn sight better than the sometimes annoying vocals from Underworld. I like and dislike the vocals and they are usually way better off being remixed. Unless of course we are talking about a live show. In that setting they kill it always - but for me I need more tracks like 'King Of Snake' to get hyped. All tangential thoughts aside I aim to please so here's the Fake Blood and autoKratz remixes. No explanation or segue way needed.

Sunday Super Post
So many things to post in a week and so little time as usual. The wrap up has a bit of stuff for everyone here today so enjoy.
Klaus 'Heavyweight' Hill and Dopamine released this 'Rematch PT 2' on their label Title Fight records This time around we get to see how General Midi and Elite Force get down. 'Ah Baby' was a classic in it own right but when Lot 49 shows up to edit I get goose bumps 'Baby'. I also included the other remix I have of the Elite Force song 'Melodik Hypnotik' remixed by Riva Starr. This mix takes us down a darker road but leaves enough light within to still heat up a club floor.
Dopamine & Klaus Hill - Ah Baby(Elite Force remix)
Elite Force - Melodik Hypnotik(Riva Starr remix)
Next we have trance electronic producer Onova from Sweden gettin re rubbed by Vancouver now NYC's Jimmy Vallance. After having establishing himself in Van city JV has now moved up to the big city and has this huge remix to show for it. This Onova heater gets a prolectro facelift and past instances of hating anything trance related has been quelled by this one.
Onova - Niveus(Jimmy Vallance & the Digital Over remix)
Ascii Disko released the 'Body Function' EP recently and this past week was so busy that I didn't have the time to share any of this with you until now. We have the track 'Until The Light Takes Us' for you. This one is a soft but toothy banger that takes its time and builds the funk with beautiful flanged out drums and solid production.
Ascii Disko - Until The Light Takes Us
Back when I was just getting into "Rave" or underground as I preferred it I remember the house music classic that broke beyond simple soother sucking accolades to the largest dancefloors in the world. This was of course Gusto with their at the time smash hit 'Discos Revenge' The classic house hum melody of the original is a overshadowed by a monstrous bassline here to perfect effect. The new slick full production by Nip and Tucks the Dominatorz takes us through the fat and gets to the bones of this one. You do get to hear the house hum melody but its used more sparingly here to create a bigger than life remix that will break your crowd in two.
Gusto - Discos Revenge(Dominatorz 2008 remix)
Lo Sforzo by Ocelot is still one of my favorite tracks by the men from Texas and this remix is right up there. Perfect integration of the original and enhanced by vocal cut ups and breaks. We have the remix by Sirhan. Now when I say Sirhan I am not referring to Robert F Kennedy's assassin but the Chicago house music producer.
Ocelot - Lo Sforzo(Sirhan Texas Trash remix)
The funk reggae duo Supafly Inc from London have opened the door to remixes on this EP. This reggae vocal smasher gets re cut by TV Rock. 'Be Together' has all the necessary elements to become the summer club hit at summer fests and Ibiza. Sun drenched and sweaty.
Supafly Inc. - Be Together(TV Rock Miami 08 re-rub)
I have been inspired by the La Mode remix that we recieved earlier today to post an Ice Cube bootleg by Bass Kleph thats right up there with the best mashups. 'You Can Do It' put your back into it, as it goes and Bass Kleph makes this one pure to the point that even Ice Cube couldn't get angry about infringement.

Unload La Mode
Back in January I posted La Mode's remix of "Magnets" by Digitalism. Today I found a pleasant surprise in our inbox from the La Mode crew which has to be heard. Their first single will be coming out soon on 7" with "Lost in Paris" with remixes by EDU K and The Shoes. Now, since there are so many other tough acts coming out of Australia, for example, the Bag Raiders, Miami Horror, Like Woah! its hard to follow, but these guys don't disappoint. Check out this sick remix of P-Diddys 'Bad boys for life'.

Some points of note regarding the mix- 'Baggy Bottom Boys' - is the new one from the Ottawa duo - and 'Fly Or Bounce' by Destroy Disco getting annihalated by them as well. Miles Dyson has one of the best songs on the the above NLLR mix so I figured I'd share it with the DJ's who want it singled out. Cheers till tmrw.

Rice and Beans is a cool store from Toulouse, France. The other day our French friends sent us a sweet mix that was made to play in their store. I love the gear that they are rockin and I have a feeling that an online purchase may be in order sooner than later. They also mentioned this mix was done the old fashioned way without the usual digital tampering. Just the hands on the decks and choice selections.

Raw Man 'Wargame' + Me&You
So I hope everyones long weekend was swell. I did pretty much nothing besides chill and I am happy I did. So many times long weekends are usually spent at the cabin or camping and such but in the long run they always beat the hell out of me. So much so that I am dragging my ass around work for the next 5 days. Kitsune is back again with another indie classic. Raw Man is the heat from the most prolific label around and like the recent Hey Today ep they have struck metal indie electro gold with 'Wargame'
myspace BIO
Raw Man began music at age of 13 as a guitar player... He formed The Buffalo Bunch with his good friend Play Paul... He released records under the names of "Buffalo Bunch", "Raw Man", "We in Music", "For the Floorz"... He founded the label "We Rock Music" with his 2 friends Gregory Louis & Romain Carles... He quit electronica for years to start a new project: "Amen Birdmen" with Cyril Bodin, kind a mixture of Rock from the 90's and electronic... He's now working back on electro as a side project of Amen Birdmen...
Raw Man - Wargame(orig)
After having done a cool remix of Roni Size's 'Brown Paper Bag' I was eager to hear the new full length effort form Brighton Hip Hop funk maniac Me & You. The album is called 'Music For Birthdays' and has the chopped collage effect that is so well known due to Girl Talk. This album is nothing like that however. There are however classic mixes here with a tribal african drum beat laid beneath The Stranglers 'Golden Brown'. And the Portishead drum and bass hybrid is also dope shit. I've included those two for you as well as one bonus from the 2 CD master piece. CD 1 is 'Floating' and CD 2 is Heavy. The tracks on each album reflect that feel.
Me&You - Texture Like Sun
Me&You - Lemonade Was A Popular Drink
Me&You - Anyone See The Light

Sunday Post
Sunday Bloody Sunday comes again and its time to recap all things electronic. First off let me say that I am happy to see the comments count rise - We really do dig on that sort of thing. I have no idea of the tastes of our readers besides my analytics page which is pretty cold ands lacks that human touch. So thanks for that. We have always worked hard to get the newest tracks and enjoy giving more than receiving. Tonight its time to get Laidback and enjoy these two new re cuts by the man from the Netherlands. We have Jukey ft Sway and DJ Sega creating a fiery track with this stellar remix. Hard and progessive. Me likey.
Laidback Luke & Steve Angello - Be(DJ Sega remix)
I have no frickin idea how this Moonbootica remix slipped past me. But I can't tell you how good this one is. Moonbootica is on the warpath lately and we are the beneficiaries.
Junkie XL - Cities In Dust(Moonbootica remix)

Next up is the Aeroplane track called 'Whispers' being softly transformed by the late night sounds of Hercules & Love Affair. They give me that Fred Falke feeling when I listen to them which is obviously a great thing.
Aeroplane f. Kathy Diamond - Whispers(Hercules & Love Affair remix)

Cleveland producer William Russell takes the already classic J.O.T.S. 'Jiggle It' and works it into a frenzy with a little Ohio funk.
Jokers Of The Scene - Juggle It(William Russell remix)

I am so pumped to have an advance of the new Ratatat 'LP3' and to share my excitement I can only tease you with a remix of Biggie Smalls.
Notorious B.I.G. - Party & Bullshit(Ratatat remix)

01 - Daft Punk - Cresendolls (Soulwax Edit)
02 - Bjork - Alarm Call (Alan Braxe & Benjamin Diamond Remix)
03 - Cassius - Feeling For You
04 - Modjo - What I Mean (Aloud Remix)
05 - Surkin - Next Of Kin (Todd Edwards Remix)
06 - Strip Steve - Tommy Boy
07 - The Disco Boys - B-B-Baby
08 - Simian Mobile Disco - Tits & Acid
09 - Headman - Song 8
10 - CJ Bolland - Sugar Is Sweeter (Twocker Remix)
11 - Like Woah - Oh I Like (Whitenoise Remix)

13 - Busta Rhymes-Dangerous(NightFacilitiesRemix)EXCLUSIVE
14-HeadsWeDance-MyHeartIsSetOnYou(LouisLaRocheRemix)EXCLUSIVE
I have made no bones about my love for NLLR mixtapes and the addiction continues with more from their recent back catalogue of DJ's. I also love all things Louis La Roche so its no surprise I love this mix.

CCC remixes Feadz,
Switch edits LOTP,
& Crookers Mad Kidz + some Hostages
Opening gmail is fun stuff. In case you haven't noticed I'm a post whore. The one thing a PW needs is a steady supply of juicy material. So in keeping with tradition I have a little gmail sent from CCC or Chewy Chocolate Cookies for long. They sent us a very crunchy and statically charged remix of Feadz' 'Humanoid' from the DSL|Feadz split EP This one is IMO one of their nicer remixes to date. Great levels on the production side and maintenance of the tracks original bottom heavy, low oHm's approach is enhanced and not detracted from on this melter.
Feadz - Humanoid(ChewyChocolateCookies remix)
Another great producer we have been watching closely in the past 6 or so months is Hostage. This Edinburgh native spins and produces Electro tech house and has like anybody these days with a following makes tight ass remixes. So to share just one is stingy and hurtful so here's a couple of Hostage songs to party to. We have The Streets r+b stepper 'Let's Push Things Forward'. The Chav classic gets rerubbed perfectly. Then its off to Andy George's 'Big Dipper' where once again Hostage turns lullaby into a thrashed up electro anthem. I am also linking to you the sweet ass NLLR mix that Hostage dropped a bit a go with many of the favs mixed together at light speed.
The Streets - Let's Push Things Forward(Hostage remix)
Andy George - Big Dipper(Hostage remix)
NLLR Hostage Mixtape
Some more new things to bump in the night is the new Mad Kidz EP from the italian stallions known as Crookers. We have this upbeat number for you titled 'Lolly Pop' This one has really turned the corner. The crunked up nature of Crookers, Jokers, and others can sometimes annoy the holy hell out of me but on all of the new 4 tracks on this EP we see a better paced and even keeled style. The spooky organ in the cut down is brilliant and once again suited perfectly.
Crookers - Lolly Pop(Mad Kidz EP)
New stuff this week as well from Late Of The Pier. Remixes applenty as usual sees Switch absolutely destroy the LOTP original with ease. As with all of the above songs I have seen a marked improvement in the quality and feel of these new breed of re mixers. The grime and dirtiness has fallen away to be replaced by sleek sounds and robotics personified. So without further ado it's..

Friday Night Feature
First up for Friday night is a reminder for all my fellow Winnipeggers to check out Hi-Fi Club in the village this weekend. Its located at 103 Osborne St 2nd Floor above the American Apparel store. This club has a hot new vibe and decor plus many of the cities newest crews on the wheels of digital steel. The weekend features DJ sets from DJ Mike B(Thu) DJ Dow Jones(Fri) and rounding out the squad is Supreme Saturdays with Dougie B(Sat) They are workin' hard to get new talent to the city so least y'all can do is show up with cover, rock your fly ass gear and prepare to get your drink on. (t. 204.415.1981)

- RISKY BIZ THURSDAYS with D.J Mike B
- The original Indie Night D.J will be kickin' it old school with Mashups, Rock and Funk from the 80s and 90s
- STIR FRI FRIDAYS with D.J Dow Jones and Weekly Surprise Guest D.J
- 4 Turntables, 2 D.J's and a nice HiFi Stir Fri of Old School, B-More, Hip Hop, House, Funk and Live Mashups.
- SUPREME SATURDAY'S with D.J Dougie B
- The original White Tee's and Stunna's D.J will be spinning at HiFi on Saturday nights with a supreme mix of B-More, Electro, Dance, Club, Remixes, Party and House.

First up tonight I have a track from those little bendable polymer strands better known as Playdoe . The Toxic Avenger is up to speed on this remix as usual.
Playdoe - Its That Beat(Toxic Avenger remix)

Today I was surfing one of my favorite sites Trash Menagerie and they had a new artist I've not seen nor heard till now called Harvard Bass. This San Diego based producer has all that is required of an up and comer from the West Coast. Fresh beats, pumping house sensibilities and the modern feel.
Harvard Bass - Stitches

I was also able to get my hands on some promos of the new EP by Moby today which has a handful of Crookers remixes. I figured I'd share a snippet with you cuz their pretty tight especially the (Bass In Here remix) This one was first featured by the Crookers on their most recent myspace mix and will see heavy rotation im sure.
Moby - I Love To Move In Here(Crookers Bass In Here mix)
Moby - I Love To Move In Here(Crookers Lemmesee mix)
Lastly tonight I have an end of the night joint for you to smoke on when you come home. Its Feist working with Gonzales who lifts the already fun track to new heights with an offbeat dub stepper style rework. Although it can begin to hit the pop heights of 'My Moon My Man'(BoysNoize edit) it takes care of business which is on par with Gonzales' current modus operandi. Cheers for now.
