Journey To A New Hope With A-ux

I have been loving everything that has been released in the last 11 months by Futurecop!, Hercules and Love Affair and Cut Copy. I forget who said the line "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" but that's all that comes to mind when I hear the new EP from A-ux from New York City. Mind bending synths and guitar solos so processed they sound like Atari 2600 sound castoffs that take refuge in the song 'Journey To A New Hope'. 'NY Dreamer' is another warm sample of relaxed arthouse pop by way of futuristic electronica.

A-ux is deeply interested in experiencing emotional and surreal music. Inspired by the electronic compositions, he sets out to capture some of that energy and intensity with electronics and computer. From an early age, his classical background in piano and his experimental attitude allowed him to achieve a good balance between musical and technological aspects.

While growing up with a diverse culture and musical style, he tends not to draw upon solely on one influence. From Debussy, Stone Temple Pilots, Boards of Canada, his pieces attempt to be timeless and distinctive. Currently residing in New York, A-ux keeps New York crowds experiencing his new sound and beat with his acclaimed live electronica act.
