Sunday Post

Lets jump right into the good stuff with some tracks that have been sent along and also a couple that have been in my electronic devices throughout the past 7 days or so. Art[Anthony Micallef]

'A Thing For Me' is one of my favorite songs from the new debut from the seminal popsters from Brighton. Metronomy can capably stand on it own two legs in the arena of electro pop but they are known more for smooth spaced out cloud filled remixes. Then how does Sinden come along and crunk up one their originals with enough ruff and tuff DNB basslines to make the originators from Bristol proud? He's Sinden - plain and Simple. No one does this style of jump up party vibe better.

Aussie turned New Yorker Sia Kate Isobelle Furler was part of the Australian acid jazz formation, Crisp, which released two albums entitled Word and the Deal and Delirium. Sia later released her own solo album entitled Only See in 1997 on a now-defunct independent record label. Furler did not achieve commercial success until her move to the United Kingdom and embarkment on a solo career. Recently she contracted Cansei De Ser Sexy to remix the hidden track 'Buttons' from her 2007 release. CSS bring that Brazilian Brilliance to the forefront as they always will on their remix work. Keeping the tempo in the hip hop dance range they add great plucky guitars and tinkling synths to perfection. Excellent pop.

Some might remember the dual named up and comer Stadtkind AKA Lebatman that we posted about awhile ago. Featuring fresh house snippets and vocal manipulations that sooth the dance soul now get re energized by fellow Italian Broke One. Broke One has also been praised here on the pages of VR recently with his mega remix of 'Life In Techincolor' by Coldplay. Enjoy this collabo!
DL : Stadtkind - Killer Deffos (Broke One remix)

Mercury Rev was formed in Buffalo, New York in the late 1980's. Consistently driven by Jonathan Donahue they have continued to surprise and enlighten listeners for over a decade and a half with their maverick musical explorations. In the beginning, Mercury Rev's first recordings emerged simply as a means for creating soundtracks to experimental films that they and their friends were creating. Fujiya and Miyagi know exactly what is required to remix the likes of the Rev. In their own way they have carried that instrumental and now vocal torch for a couple of years.
DL : Mercury Rev - Senses On Fire (Fujiya & Miyagi remix) .

After the hugely popular 'Monsterproof' Division Kent is back with their new album 'Gravity' although released a month ago in Canada and the U.S. I have been sleeping on this one until the inevitable remixes arrived and one popped into my inbox this week which was worthy of mention. Joe and Will Ask? or Joseph Ashworth and William Green get some much deserved exposure with this dark and spacey effort of the Swiss duo.

More and More Cut Copy remixes arrive daily which I always greet with a skeptical ear and so download this next with complete confidence as I have so carefully prescreened these all for you. Damn Arms hail from Melbourne Australia just like Cut Copy and just like Cut Copy they have a maturity of sound that is way beyond their years. Sparkiling disco shimmers lay in harmony with the patented pop of the Modular records saviors.
DL : Cut Copy - Far Away (Damn Arms remix) .

Bonus:
DL : Louie Vega - Dance Ritual (Axwell remix)
