Ed Banger's Mickey Moonlight 'Interplanetary Music'

Thumbing through all of my fathers old jazz records gives me a warm feeling of bliss and on one such occasion I found Impulse records artist Sun Ra. His avant garde or free jazz as Ornette Coleman put it was my gateway into to sixties jazz when all I wanted to hear at that time was be bop and hard bop. Released in 1959 'Interplanetary Music' had the most sublime drumming and hornwork of the 50's and was a perfect finish to what Charlie Parker(Bird) and Miles Davis started.

Midnight Mike is about to launch his first single ''Interplanetray Music''. Mickey Moonlight's debut single is a technicolor ray of joyous disco-pop.... an invitation to look beyond petty, local concerns to a universe of near-infinite possibilities! Released on super label Ed banger the Co-pilot Zongamin, Captain Riton and Paris' new sensation S.P.A delivered the remixes. Mickey Moonlight's version features the voices of Bishi, Susumu Mukai (Zongamin), Suzy Silver and himself.

Camden's Riton completely knocks me over with this remix getting all the funk of the original re incarnated into a beautifully keyed orchestral jazz dancefloor eccentric. Get the rest of the EP HERE, HERE, and HERE.
