Hidden Cat and a Fifth Of Beethoven

Rummaging through my dads collection of records when I was a youngin' was probably where I first learned to make mixtapes. My father was a radio DJ at U of New Brunswick in the late 60's and he has compiled so much eclectic stuff that when I first delved into it I was overwhelmed. I was never short on selection with everything from Herb Alperts Tijuana Brass, Elvis, Johnny Cash, Ike + Tina Turner, Foghat and most importantly Walter Murphy and The Big Apple Band. Their classic remake of Beethoven's 5th Symphony was the standout from the 70's era Disco even though it never meant to be. When it was released in 1976 it was quickly picked up and used in the one of the best selling albums in history 'Saturday Night Fever'. I knew the moment I heard that song back in the early eighties that one day in the future someone would remake the hell out of this song once more......Hidden Cat will carry the torch.
DL : Walter Murphy Band - A Fifth Of Beethoven (Hidden Cat remix) .

You had me fooled there! But it's not the Soulwax edit, it's done by Hidden Cat (based on the Soulwax edit).
