W.K.N.D. Post
I am officially beginning PT 1 of summer holidays and as such I will be away through the W.K.N.D. and most of next week. However, the place that I am staying will have all the amenities that I (and You) have grown accustomed to. The only hiccup is that there will be no Sunday Post this W.K.N.D. To atone for such malfeasance I will drop a Holiday Post instead of a Sunday Post. I am bringin my ipod with me of course and some of the tracks that will be on repeat are:
First up is the hot new remix by Cut Copy which will blaze the newly released album to new heights. The Brazilians make badass club rockers and then the Aussies enter with heavy synergized 70's/80's elements. Perfect!
DL : CSS - Move (Cut Copy remix)
Fred Falke seems to want to be able to release a remix or original every fortnight or so and heres another perfect promo for you. If there was a way to describe Kish Mauve it would be dancing in the darkest corner of a club eyeing up some beautiful creature. There would be a mix of Kraftwerk and Kate Bush playing and your best friend would be revealing their deepest secrets to you. Created by duo Jim Eliot and Mima, are in the studio finishing off their debut album. They are working with producer/mixer Dave Bascombe (Placebo and Depeche Mode).
London's Kish Mauve also most recently worked on Kylie's 'Two Hearts'
DL : Kish Mauve - Lose Control (Fred Falke remix) promo
Berlin electrofunk producer Nhan Solo & Daniel Dexter's Bounce Is Back' is a beatifully crafted piece hype big beat house. With hints of Goose, Mowgli, and A-Trak I feel like I have fell in electro love all over again. Oh and did I mention Malente remix....
DL : Nhan Solo & Daniel Dexter - Bounce Is Back (Malente remix)
Next up is DVAS from Toronto getting a wicked cut up from Dublin's SymbolOne
DL : DVAS - Ambient Room (SymbolOne remix)
I forgot to post this wicked Diana Ross remake that Marc from Chubby Fingers sent me so here it is in all its disco house glory.
DL : Chubby Fingers - My Piano
No road trip playlist would be complete without some dope high energy house cuts from Foamo. This Lee Mortimer remix only strenghtens the original and the Scouse boy creates a Brooklyn warbler bassline on top of the hip hop inspired roller.
DL : Foamo - Rockerman (Lee Mortimer remix)
I have been feeling this Presso remix for a couple of days now and it gets better every time I hear it. I love the indie electro hybrid tracks.
DL : Cryptonites - Can't Give You Up (Presso remix)
This week also saw the official release of the SebastiAn remix album collection. All these remixes and no originals. What are we to think? This is still killer don't get me wrong.
DL : The Kills - Cheap and Cheerful (SebasiAn remix)
Surfing Hot Biscuits the other night I came a across a wicked mash up that was posted of Warren Zevon getting crunched together seamlessly with the Wu.
DL : Warren Zevon vs Wu-Tang Clan - Werewolves of Chessboxin' (Elliot Scratch mix)
Soul producer Hint has some of the best beats in UK hip hop on record and here we have a track featuring Rizzle and a great instrumental style electro bouncer called 'The Tremmuh'
DL : Hint - Muddled Morning feat Rizzle
DL : Hint - The Tremmuh
BONUS Material
DL : Guy J - Under Pressure (Error Error remix)
DL : Alp vs Outwork - Fiesta Elektronika (Paolo Alilberti reprise mix)
DL : Funkytown - Funkytown (John Aquaviva remix)
DL : Munk - Live Fast Die Old (Headman remix)
DL : The Cult - The Sound Of Destruction (Guns n Bombs dub mix)
