Sunday Post
This post tonight is for one of our regular commentators named 'Ste'. He requested more things like Parov Stelar and more generally the Etage Noir records old jazz combination style. Well to be honest they are one of the only labels around that have decided to harvest all of the great swing era shit and rewind it. Jurassic 5 did a bit at the end of their 1st big release 'Quality Control' which was similar but aimed more at the hip hop DJ than a dancefloor monkey like me. We have for you all couple of tracks from the Japanese edition of his new LP called 'Daylight'. So Ste we hope your happy mate even though you probably have all these they still deserve some spinnin by those who are unfamiliar to the man from Austria.
Parov Stelar - Sugar
Parov Stelar - Wanna Get
Parov Stelar - Homesick
Parov Stelar - A Night In Torino
Parov Stelar - Love (Malente remix)
In the same vein and record label as Parov is the producer Andy Korg. 'Bitcrusher' is simple and heavy effective electro. Always approached with jazz touches but is also reminiscent of early Skint recording by General Midi or even Howie B's earlier works. Also check 'Sax and Soda'.
Andy Korg - Bitcrusher(Old Amazing)
Andy Korg - Sax and Soda
Recieved just before the weekend from the CCC beatmakers is a gnarly remix of 'Pocket Piano' by DJ Medhi. Enjoy.
DJ Medhi - Pocket Piano (Chewy Chocolate Cookies remix)
This is a wicked hip hop on hip hop assault remix by Young Live. This Cool Kids track gets clubbed to life and is sure to make it in between some of my favorite playouts live.
Cool Kids x Crookers Voglio Solo Action Figures (Young Live edit)
Mmmmmmmmm I love the Blacks Ghosts. I also bow down to the beats of Jack Beats and here we get to enjoy both styles meshing perfect.
The Black Ghosts - I Want Nothing (Jack Beats Miami Vice remix)
One of my favorites from Solveig from 07 early 08. Here is Paris France's newcomer Donovan underpinning this already amazing song with way more ummph. Bass increase 35%, melody boost 50%. End result and massive electro prog giant compared to the original.
Martin Solveig - C'est La Vie (Donovan remix)(new amazing)
